The Church is kind of like a pizza.
1 Corinthians 12:12
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
On a pizza, you can choose a vast and delicious or gross gross gross array of toppings. Recently, I had a chicken, bacon, pepperoni, and pineapple pizza. After I finished it, I rejoiced. It was amazing. Each topping has its own unique flavour (note the British spelling). If you like sweetness and maybe a spin on your traditional 'za, you'll love pineapple. If you like it pretty basic, pepperoni. And on and on. If you're weird, you'll prefer supreme. (nasty)
1 Corinthians 12:14
Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
A pizza cannot be a pizza without being a pizza.
The church cannot be the church without being the church.
So, which part are you? Are you a pepperoni? Are you an anchovie? Are you a pineapple?
Are you an encourager? Are you a leader? Are you a behind the scenes servant?
Romans 12:6-8
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
The church is kind of like a pizza, only a pizza that has been saved from sin and death by the power of our resurrected Saviour Jesus Christ.
