A few weeks ago, our Sunday morning worship leader had to bail last minute on leading. This worked out wonderfully! We got to worship in a different way.
We read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Then, for five minutes, 4th and 5th grade kids sat in silence, writing down things they're thankful for and praying about them. It was a very encouraging experience to witness. That's how we worshipped.
Do this everyday. Do this when you're sad. Do this when you find new things to be thankful for. Do this when you doubt, when you're happy, when you're bored, when you can't sleep. Thank God and thank him often - in all circumstances.
