Walking With Jesus

In The Summit, our goals go something like this:

To deepen and empower kids understanding and faith in Jesus by discipleship, relationship, and family. Shortened, we just say "to deepen and empower."

Right now, our focus is on walking with Jesus. When asked, the kids defined "walking with Jesus" as things like:

praying
reading the Bible
singing
going to church
and the sort

...and they're right! Our goal now is this:

The best way to escape Satan, our enemy, is to walk with Jesus.
The best way to glorify Jesus is by walking with him.

It's not exactly phrased like a goal, but a goal it is nonetheless. Our focus is simply on being his disciple.

This past weekend, we focused on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, which says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."

So, that's what we did. Take some time to walk with Jesus by rejoicing, praying, and being thankful.
