A mere five days ago, we had our Father/Daughter Valentine’s Day Banquet. It was delightful! Part of our plan was to encourage more date nights. In order to accomplish this, we provided the couples (and one group of three) with a plan for a date! It was nothing too extravagant, though it probably was the best date plan ever. Maybe. Yes. Either way, the big punch of the date was the final phases, which are:
Step 5:
Pick out a Bible verse this week that you both can memorize. Dads, help your daughters know who Jesus is by pointing them to Jesus everyday with the Bible. Here are some ideas: Romans 12:9, Ephesians 6:1-4, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, 1 Peter 4:8-10, Psalms.
The Final Step:
Dads, pray for and with your daughters. Make this a nightly routine, if it isn’t already.
One more final step:
Repeat often.
These kind of bonds connect you to each other and, more importantly, together with and by Jesus. We encourage the whole family to do these kinds of things. Please, make it fun. Prayer and Scripture are powerful.
Take that, Satan!
