Thoughts

This is one of those posts made without editing and without much preparation.

Jesus loves you. He has given us the ability to choose him or ourselves. But, when we choose him, what are we really choosing?

If we choose to make Jesus our King, then won't the things of our lives become both less catastrophically important and also more potently beneficial to ourselves and those around us?

To choose to make ourselves rulers of our lives, we miss out on a majestic existence. Yes, we may find levels of happiness, but that happiness may be fleeting or weak. Then again, there are those with joyful lives separate from Christ.

So, what's the difference? Why choose Jesus when choosing yourself can be just as joyful. Or, why choose self when Jesus as King can be so good to others and self?

Where is the line that shows Jesus to really be the King we need?

Eternity, yes. That's what we all jump to...but look deeper.

Jesus himself chose himself, while choosing to follow God. Strange thought...but Jesus chose to let God's will be his definition. He is our King, should we choose him.

He chose to follow God, and thusly was tormented, praised, followed, chased, murdered, resurrected, glorified, and more. Why choose him?

A life following a King, and not only a king, but a King who is mightier than all others, places us in the kingdom of that King.

Admittance into this kingdom is not granted by right action, but by action which glorifies the King. Right action falls into that category, as does grace, faith, and love.

Love. Be humble. Have compassion. Speak against evil. Learn and be taught. Don't hide in a bubble of Christianity that keeps you separate from those who need to know this King and his Kingdom. Share. Be kind. See the world through the eyes of Jesus. Think of how you can better the Kingdom. Act. Be courageous. Jesus is King.

Just some thoughts.

Jesus.

In His Majesty's Service.
